Community Policy

We are a relaxed and welcoming alliance for members of all ages and geographic locations. Playing with us in New Eden should be an escape from real life and an overall enjoyable experience. We therefore ask anyone visiting us or taking part in our community to respect the following rules.

We will not tolerate any of the following in our community:

• Any content or behaviour of a racist, sexist, homophobic or otherwise discrimanatory nature.
• Personal attacks directed at any member of our communityu or our guests. Be they friends or not in game.
• Begging for ISK, items, ships and similar. It should be another member's own idea to help you out in such a manner.
• Advertising of other corporations or alliances - this includes advertising other corporations within The Republic.
• Scamming, attempting to scam, or otherwise defrauding other members of the alliance.
• Disruptive or disrespectful behaviour which affects the ongoing activity or the community at large.

Similarly, the following shoudl be highly limited across our community:

• Discussions of real life politics and religious beliefs - there are plenty of other spaces on the internet for these.
• Execessive use of profanity - with the exception of capsuleers experiencing the loss of a super capital ship.
• Advertising items and trades outside of channels dedicated to this purpose, as these could interrupt the ongoing conversation.

Where do these rules apply

These rules apply, but are not limited to, the following channels, services and other community platforms:

• REPUB Discord, its respective channels and voice comms
• All in-game channels owned and operated by The Republic
• All fleets hosted by The Republic or its members
• Mails and mailing lists for The Republic members

These rules are applicable in addition to the respective policies of each platform - e.g. Discord's community guidelines and Eve Online's EULA:

Moderation and enforcement

Across our community, we have appointed moderators who can assist in enforcing these rules and take action in case of violations.

Overview of moderators of each platform

Platform	Moderators
REPUB Discord	Directors have full moderation rights, while CEOs have moderation rights within their own section. Additionally, automatic moderation is performed by Z.E.P.H.Y.R.
Chat channels	Directors have full moderation rights. Additional operators might be appointed depending on use case, e.g. members of the ICE team.
Mails and mailing lists	Directors, CEOs have full moderation rights. Additional members might be appointed for monitoring certain lists, e.g. members of the ICE team.
Fleets	Directors, CEOs, and the fleet's FC and fleet boss.

Moderators are empowered to make swift judgement calls to enforce these rules at any given time. Enforcement measures available to moderators include, but are not limited to: muting, kicking from channels, and deletion of previous messages.

Severe infractions may be directly punished with expulsion from The Republic alliance and its community at large at the discretion of the directors and CEOs in the alliance. Final decisions are at all times made by the alliance executor.
